CNNMoney.com: Betting odds not good for Fidel
Betting odds suggest Fidel Castro will die sooner rather than later, according to a report published Thursday.
Online gamblers are placing bets on which day or month the
79-year-old Cuban president will die, the Miami Herald’s online edition
reported.
There are clues as to what could be wrong with Fidel Castro. CNN’s Elizabeth Cohen reports (August 2)
Castro, who underwent emergency intestinal surgery earlier this
week, relinquished the reins of government to his brother, Raul.
Those placing $100 on Castro dying this month will reap $350 if he
does. Those betting $100 he’ll die in December will take home $600 if
they’re correct, the report said.

BetCRIS.com,
another Web site, is accepting bets on whether Castro will make another
live appearance by Aug. 13, his 80th birthday. Most of the wagers come
from people in Miami, the Herald said.
