Online casino betcris.com is laying odds on the 2006 hurricane season. They say odds are 1:1.25 that a Category 3, 4 or 5 will hit Florida this year (that means a $5 bet would win you $4). Odds are 1:5 ($5 bet wins $25) that at least one will hit the U.S. mainland, and 15:1 ($5 wins $75) that six or more will make landfall. "From our perspective, 2006 is not going to be a good year for Florida or the rest of the Gulf Coast," casino CEO Mickey Richardson said in a news release.

We like to think that Floridians already have enough riding on the hurricane season - homes, families, careers and the like - without dropping a few bucks on it.
